FLT3/ITD

Fms-related tyrosine kinase 3(FLT3) has been reported to be the most commanly mutated gene in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and implicated in its ethiopatogenesis.In AML patient 17-34% of the leukemic blasts contain small internal tandem duplications (ITDs) in juxtamembrane (JM) region of the cytoplasmic domain of FLT3 gene. The ViroGene kit has been optimized to detect these duplications with high specifity and sensitivity. The ViroGene kit is not able to detect the two point mutations (D835/I836) observed in 7% of AML patients.
